Matter Submission and Participation Authorization Agreement

Effective Date: April 28, 2026

This Matter Submission and Participation Authorization Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into by and between Litigation Lab Community ("LLC," "we," "our," or "us") and the undersigned individual or entity ("Participant," "you," or "your").

1. Purpose

You are voluntarily submitting information relating to a legal matter, claim, or potential dispute ("Matter") for the purpose of allowing it to be evaluated, developed, and engaged with within Litigation Lab Community.

2. Authorization to Share Information

You authorize Litigation Lab Community to:

  • Review, organize, and structure the information you provide
  • Share summaries or descriptions of the Matter within the platform
  • Make the Matter available to qualified participants, including law firms, attorneys, experts, and consultants

You understand that:

  • Information may be shared in summarized, anonymized, or partially redacted form at early stages
  • Additional details may be shared as appropriate to facilitate evaluation or engagement

3. Nature of the Platform

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Litigation Lab Community is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice
  • Litigation Lab Community does not represent you in any legal matter
  • The platform is not a referral service or broker
  • Any decision to engage legal counsel or other professionals is made independently by you

4. No Guarantee of Representation or Outcome

You understand that:

  • Submission of your Matter does not guarantee that any law firm, attorney, or professional will review or engage with your Matter
  • Litigation Lab Community does not guarantee representation, outcomes, or results

5. Confidentiality and Disclosure

Litigation Lab Community will take reasonable steps to handle information responsibly; however:

  • You understand that your Matter will be shared with authorized participants within the platform
  • Litigation Lab Community does not guarantee that information shared is protected by attorney–client privilege
  • You agree to avoid submitting highly sensitive, privileged, or unnecessary personal information unless appropriate

6. Accuracy of Information

You represent that:

  • The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge
  • You have the right to share the information submitted
  • You will update information if material changes occur

7. No Fees to Participant

You acknowledge that:

  • You are not required to pay any fee to submit your Matter
  • Litigation Lab Community may charge fees to professional participants for engagement within the platform

8. Independent Decision-Making

You retain full control over:

  • Whether to communicate with any professional
  • Whether to retain legal counsel
  • The terms of any engagement

Litigation Lab Community is not involved in and does not control these decisions.

9. Notification of Engagement

You agree to notify Litigation Lab Community if you retain or engage any law firm, attorney, or professional in connection with your Matter following its submission to the platform.

This includes engagement:

  • With any professional who accessed or became aware of your Matter through the platform
  • Whether such engagement occurs directly or outside the platform

You agree to provide reasonable confirmation of such engagement upon request.

You acknowledge that this notification obligation helps maintain the integrity and operation of the community.

10. Acknowledgment of Platform Introduction

You acknowledge that professionals who access your Matter through Litigation Lab Community may have obligations to the platform if they are retained in connection with your Matter.

You agree not to take actions intended to avoid or circumvent those obligations.

11. Withdrawal of Matter

You may request removal of your Matter from the platform at any time by providing written notice.

You understand that:

  • Information already accessed by participants may not be fully retractable
  • Ongoing communications or engagements are outside the control of Litigation Lab Community

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Litigation Lab Community shall not be liable for:

  • Any actions or decisions made by professionals who access your Matter
  • Any outcomes related to your Matter
  • Any indirect or consequential damages arising from your participation

13. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and applicable federal laws of Canada.

14. Acknowledgment

By clicking "I Agree" during case submission, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understand this Agreement
  • You voluntarily authorize the submission and sharing of your Matter
  • You agree to the terms set forth above

By submitting a matter through the platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Matter Submission and Participation Authorization Agreement.
